Chapter 1: “Lucille”
| Boss | Where | HP | Damage | Points | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Garage Bruiser | Enforcer's Den | 18 | 3 | 200 | A full heart, sometimes a bonus, and the way upstairs |
| Tony Two Times | Tony's Office | 12 + 12 | 3 (gun), 2 (fists) | 300 | Heart container, then Lucille |
Garage Bruiser
A big guy in overalls who hits for three quarters of a heart. He never gets stunned, so you can't pin him down with punches the way you can a regular enemy.
- Bring the 3-LB Hammer. It does 3 damage, so he goes down in six swings instead of eighteen punches.
- The Hammer reaches two squares and he only reaches one. Hit him from two squares out and he can't hit back.
- If he plants his feet and winds up, get off his line and let the swing miss.
- A grenade does 3 damage too, but it's better saved for Tony's bodyguards.
Beating him heals you a full heart and sometimes drops a few dollars or a grenade. It also opens the north door to the Private Landing. The key to Tony's Office isn't on him. It's in the Security Room to the west.
Tony Two Times
Tony is easy to spot: an orange-gold fedora and striped jacket, brown pants and a revolver. His fight has three phases. Fill your Travel Mug at the coffee machine in Tony's Lounge before you go in.
Phase 1: The bodyguards
Tony stays out of it at first. Two Thugs and a Pool Cue Punk come at you. Beat all three and Tony steps in.
This is the best place in the game for a grenade. Throw it into the middle of the three and stay out of the blast yourself.
Phase 2: Lucille
Tony stays put and shoots at you with your own gun, for three quarters of a heart a hit. He can aim in eight directions: up, down, left, right and all four diagonals.
- When he raises the gun, he can't be hurt. Get off all eight of his lines.
- When he's reloading, run in and punch him, then get back out before he raises the gun again.
- Twelve punches ends the phase, or four Hammer swings.
Phase 3: Brass knuckles
Tony staggers for a moment, then comes at you with brass knuckles. He can't be hurt during the stagger, so use it to get into position.
- Your punches always land in this phase, but they never stun him or push him back.
- When he gets close, he stops and pulls back a little before he swings. Step off his line as soon as you see that.
- He recovers faster than a regular Thug. Get one punch in right after his swing, then move.
- Twelve more punches, or four Hammer swings, and he's done.
Standing in front of Tony and swapping punches means you both take damage, and he can afford it more than you can. Hit him and get out.
After the fight
Tony drops a heart container where he falls. Take it, then walk over to Lucille when she drops across the room. Picking her up is only the start of the ending. See The ending.
